Dr Rashmi Verma

Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist | ADHD & ASD Specialist

MBChB, MRCPsych, PG Dip

Schoen Clinic Chelsea Clinics; Face-to-face and remotely on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr Verma is a highly experienced and respected Consultant who is an expert in Child and Adolescent Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry, including ADHD and Autism.

Dr Verma has a natural ability of building trust and rapport with young individuals, earning admiration from patients, parents and professionals alike. She believes it is important to identify early if a young person has neurodevelopmental difficulties to ensure the right understanding and support around them during their formative years. Acknowledging the potential apprehension associated with new environments and meeting an unfamiliar professional, Dr Verma endeavours to ensure that the experience is as comfortable as possible for both the young person and their family.

Dr Verma has been a doctor since 2004 when she achieved her medical degree at the University of Sheffield School for Medicine. She has an impressive background in Psychiatry to validate her clinical opinion, specialising in neurodevelopmental conditions since 2010 and gaining considerable knowledge and authority within the field.

Between 2006 and 2009, Dr Verma worked in General Adult Psychiatry on The Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital and University College London hospital rotations. She has been treating children since 2008 and had also previously worked in Paediatrics in 2004.

Dr Verma accomplished her specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Tavistock NHS Foundation Trust where she has worked in a number of Central London hospitals including University College London, The Royal Free and the Whittington Hospital. She therefore has a broad range of expertise in general child and adolescent mental health and co-morbid conditions, including mood and anxiety difficulties, alongside her specialist work.

At Schoen Clinic Chelsea, she offers detailed and comprehensive assessments for ADHD in children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 18, gaining adjunctive information from education and other settings. To do this, Dr Verma will need to meet with the child/adolescent in person, whilst also being flexible about additional online appointments with parents and carers. She is also able to determine if their difficulties are not due to ADHD but other conditions and factors and offers support options for these too.

At the end of the assessment, she provides feedback including a full report and discussion about treatment options available at the clinic.

Dr Verma is an Approved Clinician and a Licensed Practitioner on the Specialist Register with the General Medical Council. She is also a licensed member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists.
