About Dr Margherita Tanzarella

Dr Margherita Tanzarella is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist in London with over a decade of clinical and leadership expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions, particularly Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in adults.
She offers private adult ADHD and autism assessments at Schoen Clinic Chelsea, using gold-standard diagnostic tools including the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), 3Di, and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
After graduating from medical school in Italy, Dr Tanzarella completed core and higher specialist psychiatric training in London, including general medicine and surgery. She developed a strong interest in neurodevelopmental conditions during her higher training and has since led and developed multiple NHS services for adults with ADHD, autism and complex mental health needs across several London NHS Trusts.
Dr Tanzarella is trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and is highly skilled in the assessment and management of adult ADHD, including prescribing and monitoring ADHD medication.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Tanzarella has contributed to national policy and service development through advisory roles and inter-agency collaborations with Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and local authorities. She is a published researcher in the fields of psychiatric comorbidities, risk assessment, and adaptive functioning in individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions.
She is also a key member of the specialist ADHD team at Schoen Clinic Chelsea, offering full diagnostic assessments and tailored treatment plans for adults with suspected ADHD or autism.
