Dr Ashish Arora

Dr Arora has been an NHS Consultant Psychiatrist since August 2003, treating a wide variety of mental health problems, from major mental disorders to adjustment issues and milder depression.

Dr Arora provides a comprehensive assessment for various psychiatric disorders, working in conjunction with well-trained in-house psychologists. He offers a mix of psychotherapy and medications to most patients and believes that psychological support is crucial in aiding patient recovery. He has a specialist interest in ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, depression, and anxiety disorders.

Dr Arora sees a variety of patients at these clinics, including those with depressive and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and psychoses of various types. He offers a comprehensive assessment for psychotherapy and has a good network of psychology colleagues who are able to take on patients for counselling or more specialized psychotherapy.

Dr Arora maintains an honest and transparent practice and considers himself to be a good communicator. Patients are treated with respect, and confidentiality is honoured.

Besides clinical work, Dr Arora has also been involved in the training of junior psychiatrists, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. He is registered with the Royal College of Psychiatrists for CPD and regularly updates himself through attending various conferences, meetings, workshops, and self-study.

Dr Arora enjoys travelling and has visited several interesting parts of the world. From his travels, he has become very inquisitive about the role of culture and how it interplays with mental illness. He is quite intrigued by the diverse manifestations of mental disorders in different population groups and the role of family and society in helping patients cope with psychological distress.
