Maxine’s overall therapeutic approach is integrative, putting the therapeutic relationship at the centre of her work with patients. She uses person-centred skills to forge strong working relationships, psychodynamic principles to drive insight and behavioural change, and cognitive behavioural tools to aid better understanding of the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Her personal philosophy is that by forging strong and supportive therapeutic relationships and using her psychological expertise to drive greater self-awareness and insight, everyone has the potential to develop and change.

Maxine has more than 8 years of therapeutic experience working with both adults and young people. Following qualifying in 2011 much of her work has been working with both adults and adolescents with eating disorders of all types, in both in-patient and out-patient settings. In order to support this work she obtained a family therapy qualification in 2012 and have also worked as part of a team delivering multi-family group therapy to support treatment. She uses both MANTRA and CBT-e as a framework for the treatment of eating disorders.

Maxine also has extensive experience of working with a range of mood disorders including anxiety and depression where she uses CBT models.
