Magdalena García is a private Clinical Psychologist & Integrative Psychotherapist with a wealth of experience in treating children, adolescents and adults with mental health conditions and eating disorders.

Magdalena practices from a holistic standpoint, firmly rooted in the belief that treatment should be tailored to the unique needs of each patient. With unwavering compassion and a profound understanding extending beyond symptoms, she places the therapeutic relationship at the forefront of her work.

Magdalena's professional journey has seen her offer guidance to children, young adults, and their families. Her expertise encompasses a systemic narrative approach, aiding individuals in constructing alternative narratives and beliefs concerning their experiences, thoughts, feelings, and convictions. She also draws upon a psychodynamic approach, utilising projective tests as psychodiagnostic tools and implementing attachment-based therapy.

Throughout her career, Magdalena has continually pursued further education and professional growth. She earned a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Diploma and went on to train as an attachment-based therapist with the Theraplay Institute. Upon relocating to the UK, she completed her MSc in Affective Disorders at King's College London, specialising in depression, bipolar disorders, and anxiety disorders. Magdalena further expanded her skill set by training as a Mentalisation-Based Treatment psychotherapist at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. She also possesses knowledge in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Transactional Analysis.

Magdalena's extensive experience as a psychotherapist encompasses a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders and concerns, including but not limited to eating disorders, affective disorders, depression, self-harming behaviours, bereavement, self-esteem issues, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, attachment issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and trauma.

In her capacity as a psychotherapist, Magdalena offers a safe and supportive environment for individuals to freely express their thoughts and emotions, free from judgement. Utilising a range of therapeutic modalities, including verbal communication, art therapy, games, and sand tray therapy, she collaboratively builds a trusting relationship with her clients, enabling them to feel secure as they gain self-awareness and embark on a path of positive change.
