Schoen Clinic Newbridge are looking for a full-time or part-time permanent Dietitian to provide a specialist dietetic service to inpatients at Newbridge House.

Schoen Clinic Newbridge House is an award winning and specialist Eating Disorder facility based in Streetly, Sutton Coldfield, providing in and out-patient services to young people aged 8-18yrs. With an enviable reputation for excellent service provision our unit was rated “Outstanding” by the CQC in 2016 and 2018 and we were Hospital Group of The Year and Nursing Practice winners in both 2019 and 2020. As demand for our services increases, we are currently recruiting for a full-time Lead Dietitian to join our warm and professional team at Schoen Clinic Newbridge House.

You will be working as part of a highly talented and close multi-disciplinary team of professionals and the support that you will provide will enable young people to help themselves in their recovery from their eating disorder.

​With a Bsc in Nutrition and Dietetics or a Bsc in a relevant science plus post-graduate diploma in dietetics, the Lead Dietitian will be a registered with the Health Professions Council and will have a high degree of knowledge of current best practice when working with young people with eating disorders. You will enjoy working and engaging with young people, their families and carers and will have a work background that reflects this.

​You will be a source of expertise on the dietary management of eating disorders to the multi-disciplinary team, community health professionals and others involved in the care of our patients. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • To lead the Dietetic team, offering guidance and support as required.
  • To work with the Operations Manager and Clinical Manager to ensure the catering team are delivering the desired service, to meet the specialist needs of young people, families and staff.
  • Work with the other Heads of Departments, to evaluate and create the most effective treatment programme at Newbridge house
  • To ensure cross covering arrangements are in place when the other Dietitian is on annual leave or on sick leave.
  • Provide monthly clinical and managerial supervision to the other Dietitian in the team.
  • To lead the ongoing development of departmental resources and guidelines, ensuring they remain evidence based and in line with National Guidelines and Frameworks.
  • Assist the Managers in the external promotion and marketing of the unit to potential partners.
  • Respond to media queries where appropriate, providing an expert voice on the nutritional management of eating disorders.

Hours - Full time 37.5 hours, part time 24 hours

Skills

  • BSc Nutrition and Dietetics or BSc in relevant science plus post-graduate diploma in dietetics
